THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE LANE

Debdutta Gupta & Anshul Anand · Founders

DEB'S BISTRO HAS BEEN SERVING INDIAN FOOD IN LYON FOR YEARS. NOT THE KIND YOU FIND EVERYWHERE. THE KIND THAT REMEMBERS WHERE IT CAME FROM.
GULLY IS THE NEXT STEP. A FULL INDIAN STREET KITCHEN IN THE 11Th. BUILT ON EVERYTHING WE HAVE LEARNED, COOKED, AND SERVED ACROSS TWO CITIES.
DEB'S STREET FOOD BROUGHT THAT SAME HONESTY TO PARIS. NO FRILLS.
JUST FIRE, SPICE, AND INSTINCT.

Gully did not start on Boulevard Voltaire. It started with one chef, one partner and a simple idea: feed Paris the food India actually eats on its streets.

PARIS 11 · 2026
More regions. Cocktails and mocktails. A room you sit in and stay. Same hands, same fire, now a full Indian street kitchen at 119 Boulevard Voltaire.

LYON · 2019
Deb opens his first kitchen in Lyon. Regional Indian cooking. Not the kind you find everywhere.
The kind that remembers where it came from.
Deb and Anshul bring that honesty to Paris. A counter, a few stools and real street flavours. Deb calls it our beta. It taught us what Paris wanted.

CHEF & CO-FOUNDER

CO-FOUNDER · OPERATIONS
Grew up eating on Indian streets. Not in restaurants. Between dosa carts, chaat stalls and biryani pots simmering since 5 AM. Trained in France, Finland and Norway.
Built Deb’s Bistro in Lyon, then Deb’s Street Food in Paris. Every year he goes back to India, walks the same lanes, and brings what he eats back to this kitchen.
Close to two decades in sales and operations. Anshul is the one who turns Deb’s ideas into a restaurant that opens on time, every day.
Menus, schedules, suppliers, the team and the hundred small things a guest never sees. If something on the plate or the card is not right, he catches it first.
“GULLY IS FOR THE CURIOUS. FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TRAVEL. IF YOU ARE AN EXPLORER, GULLY IS FOR YOU.”
Debdutta Gupta

गली
NOT A NEW NAME. A NEW LANE.
Deb’s Street Food was about the dishes. Gully is about where the dishes come from. The street.
The chaiwala on the corner. The paan shop. The stall you go back to every single day because it feels like yours.
So Deb built one. Sign by sign, poster by poster, on Boulevard Voltaire. Not decorated. Harmonious chaos.
